The National Security Council (NSC) of India is the country's apex institutional framework for considering matters of national security and providing strategic policy advice. It was established in 1998 and operates through a broader national-security architecture involving the National Security Advisor and supporting structures. In the BBIMUN simulation, the NSC functions as a high-level strategic crisis committee in which delegates must assess rapidly changing information, reconcile political and security priorities and make decisions under uncertainty. The agenda for this committee is classified by design.
Agenda: Classified
Because the agenda is classified, the substantive scenario cannot be summarized in advance without defeating the purpose of the committee. The focus, however, is expected to be on strategic assessment, inter-agency coordination, prioritization of national interests, risk management and decision-making under incomplete information. Delegates should be prepared to distinguish confirmed information from unverified reports, evaluate immediate versus long-term consequences and consider diplomatic, economic, technological, humanitarian and security dimensions together.
