NITI Aayog, established in 2015 to replace the Planning Commission, serves as the Government of India's policy think tank and supports cooperative and competitive federalism, strategic planning, innovation and evidence-based policymaking. Its work spans sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, health, energy, technology, education and human development. The Viksit Bharat 2047 vision frames India's long-term aspiration for developed-country-level prosperity and stronger capabilities by the centenary of independence. In this simulation, delegates must translate that broad vision into a resilient strategy under an unusually uncertain global environment.

Agenda: Formulating a resilient roadmap towards Viksit Bharat 2047 amidst geopolitical uncertainty, technological disruption, and evolving global economic challenges.

The agenda asks how India can sustain high-quality growth while managing geopolitical shocks, technology-driven disruption and changes in the structure of the world economy. Delegates may examine advanced manufacturing, supply-chain resilience, strategic technologies, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, energy security, digital public infrastructure, logistics, skilling, research and development, employment and export competitiveness. Economic resilience also depends on diversification: dependence on a narrow set of markets, technologies or inputs can create vulnerabilities when global trade is disrupted. The roadmap should therefore connect macroeconomic stability with productivity, innovation, human capital and inclusive growth.
